How can I adjust my food service for Ramadan/Eid?

Some school communities adjust their menu or pause food service completely during Ramadan. Here's how to make this process as smooth as possible for you and ensure your service reflects the needs of your school community.

When Ramadan approaches, some canteens and tuckshops adapt or limit their service menu to support their school community. This may range from:

  • closing the service for the duration of Ramadan

  • reducing service days

  • limiting menus, or

  • offering suhur or iftar-friendly options for pre‑dawn or evening use (e.g., yoghurt tubs, fruit, baked goods).

If you plan to pause your canteen service for Ramadan

Many suppliers choose to temporarily close their food service during Ramadan. If this applies to you, it's simple to change your service availability within the Supplier Portal. Here's how:

If you plan to continue service but in a different capacity

There are a couple of ways to amend your normal food service in the Supplier Portal:

  • Limit the items that are available from your existing menu by toggling item availability on/off

  • Editing your service dates if you are closing your service
  • Turning off your regular menu, and creating a separate service menu with limited items for the duration of Ramadan (Setting up your service as a Special Food Service is a great way to do this!)
