Parent communications - form integration

This guide covers how to use the Parent Communications tool to send parents a notification with a link to forms created using your preferred form provider. It also outlines how to update your Quicklinks if required. 

 

Send your forms to parents through an app notification 

  1. Navigate to Parent Communications
  • Log into your Supplier Portal and navigate to ‘Parent Communications’. You will be taken to the ‘Create post’ page where you can make a parent notification. 
  1. Create your notification 
  • Fill in your notification title. In the body of your post, include a link to your new form. You can do this in two ways:   

Option 1: Insert the link directly into notification body

    • Paste the link of your new form directly into your notification body. 

Option 2: Add link to body text

    • Highlight the text that you wish to link to your new form (e.g., "Click here"). 
    • Select the chain link icon to the right of the page. 
    • Enter your form link and then select the tick to save. 
  1. Select recipients
  • Choose the year levels you would like to send the notification to or 'Select All' for all users connected to your school.
  1. Pin the post
  • To ensure this post remains at the top of the Newsfeed within the Flexischools app, even when future posts are made, set this post to be 'Pinned': 

  1. Publish the notification 
  • Press 'Publish'. Users with the app installed will receive a notification and can complete the form within the Flexischools app. 

 

Edit Quicklinks 

You may have an existing Quicklink that links to an old form. An example is shown below:

The below steps outline how you can edit your existing Quicklink. For instructions on how to create a new Quicklink, click here.

 

  1. Navigate to Quicklinks
  • In the Parent Communications tool, select ‘Quicklinks’, then ‘Edit / sort / delete’.
  1. Select the Quicklink to edit
  • Choose the Quicklink that you wish to edit.

  1. Update the link
  • Edit the ‘Link’ field, replacing the existing URL with the link to your new form.
  1. Save changes
  • Make any additional changes required, then press ‘Update’ at the bottom of the page. 

Parents will then be able to complete your form within the Flexischools App, by clicking this Quicklink within the Newsfeed section.
