Set packing days and cut-off times

Your packing schedule tells Shop which days you pack orders. Shop uses it, together with your closures, to work out the "packed from" date parents see at checkout.

Before you start

• You need the Shop Manager role.
• Go to Settings › Online ordering and open the Packing tab.
• You must tick at least one day. With no packing days the tab shows Families can't order yet, and you can't save.

Set your packing days

1. On the Packing tab, tick each day you pack orders.
2. Optional: for a ticked day, turn on the Same day packing switch. The label changes to Same day packing before, and a time field appears.
3. Enter the cut-off time. Orders placed before this time on that day are packed that same day.
4. Select Save changes. A message confirms "Packing schedule saved". Use Discard to throw away edits you haven't saved.

If you untick a day, its cut-off is cleared. If you turn Same day packing on, a cut-off time is required.

How the packed-from date is worked out

When a parent opens checkout, Shop looks for the earliest packing day that isn't closed:

1. Today counts only if it's a packing day, Same day packing is on for it, and the order is placed before the cut-off time.
2. Otherwise Shop moves forward day by day to the next packing day.
3. Any day covered by a closure is skipped. See Set shop closures.

Example: you pack on Tuesday (same-day packing before 10:00 am) and Thursday (same-day packing off).

If Tuesday were inside a closure, the Monday order would be packed from Thursday instead.

What parents see

Parents see a banner at checkout that reads "Orders packed from" followed by the date, for example "Tue 3 Nov". If a closure pushed the date back, the banner explains why. It's the same date for every order placed at that moment.

Good to know

• Ordering stays open every day. Packing days only change the date you promise, not when parents can order.
• The preview is a guide. The blue What families see box on the tab lists each day's outcome, but it doesn't know about your closures. The date at checkout does.
• Cut-off times use Sydney time.
• Every order reaches your To pack list straight away. If you pack earlier than the promised date, the family gets their order sooner. See Pack orders and notify parents.
• Pickup hours don't affect this date. See Manage pickup locations.
• Changes apply to orders placed after you save.
