Turn on delivery to home
Offer postage to a home address, set its name, information and cost
Delivery to home lets parents have an order posted to an address instead of collecting it. It's off until you turn it on.
Before you start
- You need the Shop Manager role.
- Go to Settings › Online ordering and open the Delivery tab.
- Decide what you'll charge for postage (or whether it's free) and roughly how long delivery takes once an order is packed.
Turn delivery on
- On the Delivery tab, switch the toggle at the top right of the card on.
- In Name families see, enter the name for the option, for example "Post to home". This is required.
- In Information, explain how it works, for example "Sent by Australia Post. Once your order is packed, it will usually arrive within 7 to 14 days." This is required.
- In Cost (Optional), enter the postage fee in dollars. Leave it blank for no charge. The cost can't be negative.
- Select Save changes. Use Discard to drop edits you haven't saved.
When the toggle is off, the card reads Families collect at school only, and parents only see your pickup locations.
What parents see
At checkout, each child's collection step shows your postage option alongside the pickup locations. It displays:
- the name you entered,
- your information text,
- the cost, shown as a dollar amount (a blank cost shows as $0.00), and
- an address field, because the delivery address is always requested. Families enter it at checkout.
The "Orders packed from" date applies to posted orders too. You pack and post them from the Orders page. See Pack orders and notify parents.
Good to know
- The cost is charged on each child's order that is posted. A parent ordering for two children, both posted, pays it twice.
- Delivery isn't limited by year level. Only pickup locations can be restricted. See Manage pickup locations.
- You can turn delivery off again at any time. Orders already placed keep the delivery method families chose.
Troubleshooting
I can't save the Delivery tab. Check that Name families see and Information are both filled in, and that the cost isn't negative. The fields show a message such as "Name is required".
