Overview of steps to set up student cards with Flexischools for IT teams

This article is to help assist you with an overview of the simple steps to get set up with student cards for IT teams

Step 1: Decisions to make

1. Select the type of cards you have or wish to use

2. If you chose MIFARE/RFID cards, then we need to do a sync, you will need to select the type of sync you wish to do

Note: this step is not needed if you are doing Barcode cards

3. If you are integrating with Flexipos as a point of sales system, Flexischools will do this whole set up for you. If you are integrating with a third party POS provider the steps to complete are here

Step 2: Complete the sign up

Flexischools will provide a student card sign up form to be sent to the IT team to complete 

Step 3: Set up Day

The IT team will likely need to be available for when the POS hardware arrives to assist with set up if required, such as:
- to ensure that any firewalls can be accessed 
- to assist with any questions
- to test with real student cards to ensure they are reading and syncing correctly 

Flexischools have a POS support team along with the onboarding team who will be there to support throughout the process of getting student cards set up to make it as simple as possible for the school and IT team.
